UPPERCASE publishing inc takes the health and safety of its contributors, subscribers and community very seriously.
Wear a respirator mask in public spaces and when gathering with those outside of your household. Each infection—even asymptomatic, increases your chance of developing Long Covid and/or other serious health repercussions. The virus can persist in your body, and each infection is cumulative. It also makes you more susceptible to viral, bacterial and fungal infections. It increases your chances of developing heart problems, strokes, diabetes, dementia and other serious conditions. Open windows for better ventilation and use HEPA purifiers for air filtration. Vaccination and boosters can help reduce your chance of ending up in the hospital, but they do not prevent infection, transmission or Long Covid.

UPPERCASE publishing inc’s COVID-safe policy
UPPERCASE does not want anyone to get sick or unwittingly spread the virus.
- contributors should conduct all interviews remotely
- no in-person meetings, gatherings or conferences for any UPPERCASE-related business
- if an in-person meeting is absolutely necessary, then all parties must wear high-quality masks and be in a well-ventilated space. Ideally, the meetup should be outdoors.
- UPPERCASE does not sponsor nor promote in-person conferences, craft shows, retreats or other events that do not—at a minimum—require universal masking.

5 Pillars of Protection
- MASKING
Always wear a good-fitting, high-quality mask (N95 or N99) in public spaces or when visiting with people outside of your household.
- VENTILATION
Ensure that shared spaces are well-ventilated with frequent air changes and HEPA filtration. Open the windows!
- SOCIAL DISTANCING
Reduce unnecessary contact with people outside your household. If gathering with others, wear a mask—and request that others do, too—and keep the space ventilated. Avoid unnecessary air travel.
- BE AWARE & RESPONSIBLE
You can be contagious and not show any symptoms—if you’ve been in close contact with someone who test positive, assume that you were exposed. Always pay attention to how you feel. Rapid tests no longer detect variants as quickly as they previously did, but if you have any symptoms, take a test each day as long as you have symptoms. Stay home if you have any symptoms and take precautions to avoid spreading your illness to others in your household. Stay home until you test negative or at least 10 days from symptom onset.
- VACCINATION / BOOSTERS
Stay up-to-date on all vaccinations and boosters.
